There is no logical reason for the rendition of an ancient Greek's dialogues, to have endured to this day nearly 2000 years later.
Yet through all the trials and tribulations of subsequent history, beyond all left-brained capitalistic, materialistic, scientific dis-passionate lack of romantic aptitude of modern day man, Plato's stories have. Maybe, it is the dream of a Utopia that fuels our imagination, as it had during the Renaissance, in unstable times, as today, in our modern ego fuelled disconnected disaster of a "civilization" crucifying the earth, biodiversity and soul. Or, maybe, we are actually remembering our heritage at a visceral level.
Regardless, rather than receding, the idealisms of everything it seems to stand for, have actually increased. Historians piece together clues of curiously similar stories from around the world, driving many to invest serious money determined to discover physical evidence. Whilst many others not only feel a spiritual connect with their Atlantean forefamily, but to also feel that we are on the precipice of a redawning of this Golden Age. An age reminiscent of that alleged pre patriarchal ruling paradigm. An age of wisdom, equality and true reverence. And it is interesting to note that through history, there have been many practicing Gnostics, for better or worse - influential movers and shakers of global society, who professed fervently of its existence, of their other worldly wisdoms and esoteric nature of reality, Sir Francis Bacon being one.
None the less, ultimately, maybe by virtue of pure intention, we just will manifest that which we dream of, irrelevant of whether the story of Atlantis was ever physically true, it may have been true enough in need, to become when humanity is ready.
